Terms of use

Skate Buddy is run by Stravyn Technologies LLC (“we”). It helps ice dance and pairs skaters find a training partner, with their coaches in the loop. By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Who can use it

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• Skaters under 18 use Skate Buddy through a parent or guardian: the parent signs in with their own email, sets up the skater’s profile, agrees to these terms for them, and holds the account. Tryout requests and chats for that skater come to the parent’s account.
• Coaches must be real coaches and describe their credentials honestly.
• One person, one account. Keep your sign-in email to yourself.

No tolerance for abuse or inappropriate content

Skate Buddy is for arranging skating partnerships. It is not a dating app. You must not:

• harass, threaten, bully or demean anyone, or contact someone who has blocked you;
• post or send sexual, violent, hateful or otherwise objectionable content, including in photos and clips;
• approach a minor for anything other than skating, or try to move a minor’s conversation away from the app and their parent or coach;
• pretend to be someone else, or post anything false about your age, levels or credentials;
• spam, advertise, or collect other people’s information.

Every profile and chat has Block and Report. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and remove the accounts of people who post it. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services first.

Tryouts and safety

Tryouts happen at rinks, arranged with coaches. We don’t check anyone’s background, and we aren’t present at tryouts, so use your judgment: meet at a rink, with a coach or parent there. Skating has a real risk of injury; you take part at your own risk.

Your content

You own the photos, clips and text you add. You let us store and show them to other Skate Buddy users so the app can work, and you can delete them at any time. Only post what you have the right to post.

Your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account); that removes your profile, clips and messages. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

The service

Skate Buddy is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and accurate but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free, and we aren’t responsible for what users say or do, on or off the app. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to $100. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, USA.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app if the change matters. For any question or to report a problem, email hello@skatebuddy.app.
